Throughout this entire wedding process, which has been particularly stressful at times, D and I have really been lucky to have friends that have really stepped up and gone above and beyond what they needed to do to help us out. I really wanted to take the time to acknowledge people who have really made a difference in this wedding, and in our lives.
* Sarah, my MOH. Sarah and I met in college and bonded quickly over her upcoming wedding. She asked me to be her bridesmaid and I was totally honored. She was a beautiful bride.

Since Sarah's wedding, life has taken us in different directions. Sarah has moved around quite a bit with her husband {who is in the air force} and has since settled in Texas. The distance seems to have only brought us closer. We're the kind of friends who can go several weeks without talking, but then have a 4 hour phone conversation and feel like we've never missed a beat. It's admittedly been really tough to not have her close for all the wedding planning, but she's been so amazingly supportive. She has done so many little things that have really made me feel special, and has always been a good listener. She's also amazingly organized and her advice has been so helpful this entire time! I am so happy to have such a wonderful friend at my side on this really special day.
* Megan, my "brides-Megan". Megan and I met in graduate school and have recently gotten much closer after bonding over trashy tv and wine. She has really gone above and beyond for me for this wedding. Always there to offer a shoulder to cry on, someone to vent to, or someone to laugh with, Megan has been nothing but wonderful. It has been so helpful to have someone to run little errands with me, look over stuff, or support me in decisions. Megan also took it upon herself {with the help of another dear friend, Heather} to plan and execute a bachelorette party for me when no one else would. It was so touching that she would go to all that trouble just to give me a special day, even when it wasn't her "job". She is more than a bridesmaid to me, she's my bridesMegan!

* Ziling, D's best man. Ziling has always been such a great friend to Doug. They've known each other since 7th grade {where they met in art class.. apparently they both don't care much for art} and have remained very close friends ever since. Ziling has also made a lot of efforts to get to know me and include me in things, which is a very generous gesture on his part. Some of the highlights of our interactions have been when we went to Glacier National Park all together in July of 2012. What an amazing experience. Ziling and Doug {along with Thad, D's brother in law} continued the grand adventures on their trip to the Grand Tetons this summer for D's bachelor party. The trio backpacked through the tetons for four days and had some awesome pictures and stories after they got back. I won't get too sappy here because they're guys and they don't like
that, but as D's almost-wife I really love that he has such a great
friend.

* Erika, the officiant/cake maker. Erika is a coworker of mine who has become my running/gym buddy, and my good friend. Originally Erika offered to make me cupcakes as an "in" for a wedding invite. Then it evolved into a bargaining tool to get me to run this ridiculous 216 mile relay race on her team {which I did, it was amazing}. Then it turned into Erika also getting sucked into officiating the ceremony! Erika has been such an influential part of my life, motivating me to push myself in terms of physical activities, and helping me plan and execute this wedding. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty in cake making, ceremony organizing, and being all around super supportive about everything wedding related. Not sure what we would have done without her!

* Emily, my "flower girl". Emily is also another coworker of mine, but has been very influential in my graduate school career as a fantastic mentor. She has been the go-to person if I wanted someone to be excited with me about things, as she was always happy to listen to fun planning things. One day I was expressing to her how upset I was that we had no one who could get flowers the day of the wedding, and without skipping a beat she offered to do it. She has since also agreed to help coordinate setting up the day of the wedding to alleviate stress off of myself and my family's shoulders. She is a wonderful example of someone who goes above and beyond for others, and I am honored to have her in my life.
* SO MANY OTHERS! Friends left and right have offered to do whatever they can to help us out. To name a few: Christine, Matthew, Jennifer, John, Kevin, Heather, Dave, Chris, and Ellie. Seriously, we are so lucky to have so many people in our lives who care and want to help this day go as smoothly as possible. We are truly lucky people to have such wonderful friends, and we're happy to get many of them in one place for our little wedding.
{Which, by the way, is one week from tomorrow. Where in the heck did time go?!}
Anyways, I guess the point of this post is to really acknowledge how much so many of our friends mean to me, and to us. We are incredibly lucky to know some amazing people.
8 days!!!!!
